VENT-SHEET METAL IN SOLIDWORKS

The Vent feature in SOLIDWORKS is a great way to add any sort of vents for airflow through sheet metal and plastic parts. It’s a very simple way to create a vent opening, spars and ribs as needed.

  1. Select Front Plane for creating a Sketch. Create a sketch as shown in image and click Exit Sketch.

2. Enter the desired Parameter as shown in Base Flange Property manager and then click

3.Select the top face of the created Sheet Metal Part, Right Click and Select Sketch option.

4.Create a sketch as shown in image with given dimensions and constraints. Exit the Sketch.

5. Select the Vent tool in Sheet Metal For Boundary select the recently created sketch.

6.For Ribs Select the vertical and horizontal lines and adjust the thickness to 2

7. For Spars select the circle of diameter of 30

8. For Fill-In Boundary Select the circle of diameter 7 Click OK and exit the Vent feature Manager.
